Coalitions
Washington Asset Building Coalition (WABC): The WABC is a network of community leaders and practitioners in public, private and non-profit agencies seeking to help low and moderate-income individuals engage in saving and investment behavior as a means to increasing financial independence and success. Its members include 15 local coalitions—including S-KC ABC—who are using their collective resources to expand asset building in their own communities throughout the state.
Cities for Financial Empowerment (CFE): CFE brings together pioneering municipal governments from across the country that leverage their power and positions to advance innovative financial empowerment initiatives. By working with key partners in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, CFE also leverages its members’ collective power to advance the financial empowerment agenda on a state and national level. Member cities include Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Newark, Providence, San Antonio, San Francisco, Savannah, and Seattle.
Alliance Against Predatory Lending (APPL): The APPL coalition works for the passage of fair and reasonable consumer protections on predatory lending that will reduce poverty and create safer and stronger communities in Washington State. It addresses exorbitant rates and unfair practices of predatory loans, including payday loans and mortgages.
